Business Opportunity
- 06-12-09
Area
Businesses,
The West Branch Area
Film Association is offering potential film producers a "Golden Ticket" when
they come to town to film. The incentive is to do two things:
1) Attract film
producers to our community
2) Increase your
business potential.
The Golden Ticket would provide area
discounts to the film crew while in our area filming, typically 2 to 10 weeks,
depending on the production.
Here is how it works: The film crew will be given a business size card "The
Golden Ticket", with the name of the production on it and an expiration date
about a week or two after the projected finish of the production. They will use
the card to obtain discounts or special offers at many of our businesses
including restaurants, retail shopping and entertainment. That is where you
benefit. The crew and actors will need all kind of services while on film
location. We will update the list with each film production but once the list is
completed (about two weeks), no additions will be made. With your
participation, you will receive a placard for your door or window designating
you as a "Golden Ticket" participant. So please get back with me ASAP so you
can be included. (pjfab1@aol.com) Here are some examples of the Golden
Ticket discounts:
The Silver Lining 10% off purchase
Retail Jewelry-Adornments-Specialty Items
Loranger Pines Campground Free bundle of wood with camp reservation
and overnight stay

The site is intended for film producers. Please notice on the last page, the
contact page, that you can have your business or personal property listed as a
possible film location. Just fill out the form and send to us and we will
include it in our database. If you have pictures you want included on the photo
gallery page then please send them to
info@filmwb.com with a
description and contact info. The West Branch Area Film Association is
aggressively marketing our area to film producers and we expect to have positive
results. Please consider being part of this success.

Rose City Trail Head -
3-23-09
In
2009, the Rose City-Lupton Chamber of
Commerce received a Yamaha OHV Access
Initiative GRANT for development of a
Trail Head & Staging Area within the
city limits of Rose City.
The Rose City Staging Area will provide
access to 90 miles of snowmobile trails
& 80 miles of ORV trails - just within
Ogemaw County! The Staging Area is
located 2 blocks east of M-33 on Rose
City Road. The 1st phase of this project
will provide parking for about 6 rigs.
Anticipated opening of this Staging Area
is late May 2009.
Rose City is virtually surrounded by OHV
trails yet lacked a Trail Head & Staging
Area for the enthusiast to more easily
access these trails. Altho 200+ miles of
county roads are legal to ride, there
was no place for the enthusiast to leave
their vehicle & trailer unless as a
guest of a local motel.
Rose City is located less than hours
from Detroit & Grand Rapids. No need to
drive to the UP. We've got it all here!!
